Unique in its approach, Islander Art Lab is emerging as a contemporary cultural voice rooted in the Cycladic topos.

Islander Art Lab was created to open a different relationship with Paros, one built on close attention. Its purpose is to reveal the island in its complexity, as a living blend of geology, climate, human history and artistic practice, rather than as a backdrop.

Founded by artist Justyna Borucka, it brings together fine art, material research and place-based inquiry. It functions as both a laboratory for artistic exploration and a sanctuary for reconnection. Through its workshops, Islander invites participants to experience the island beyond its familiar white-and-blue postcard image.

The artworks are at the heart of Islander, giving tangible form to a vision rooted in artistic skill, research and conceptual depth. Around them, the atelier becomes a space for exchange, exploration and discovery.

The Art of Seeing guides each workshop: a practice of slowing down, becoming more receptive to material, place and presence, and recognising one’s own position within the landscape. Through this practice, participants develop a more attentive way of seeing that can be carried into other places, artworks and everyday situations.
