Material Studies emerge from the same material practice that defines the Islander Art Lab atelier.
Created with earth pigments and geological materials sourced directly from the Cycladic landscape, these works explore surface, texture and formation through direct engagement with place.
They are process-oriented works, grounded in making and in close contact with matter. Each piece reflects an ongoing investigation into reduction, structure and geological time.
Distinct from the research-based bodies of work within my fine art practice, these studies remain rooted in the Islander atelier and in the material conditions of the Cyclades.
